Barry Battle Jr., a Washington, D.C. native, discovered his passion for acting as a teenager when he starred in the stage play It Takes a Village. Since then, he has built a remarkable career, highlighted by his lead role in the Off-Broadway hit stage play Waldy Street.

Barry studied playwriting with a focus on theater at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Bowie State University, which led to opportunities like writing for BET’s 106 & Park under senior writer Pat Charles.

His debut film, Camp Wilson (starring Omar Gooding), showcased Barry's talents as a writer, director, and producer. In 2015, he premiered his stage play Rotten Apple, which later debuted theatrically in 2023, featuring an impressive cast including Dorien Wilson, Darius McCrary, and Darrin Dewitt Henson. Currently, Barry is touring with Rotten Apple and preparing for his upcoming Broadway debut while filming his first feature-length movie.
