Having a child with a medial disorder that has no cure is hard to imagine. But for Alicia Mullen, it's her reality. Her son, Michael, has neurofibromatosis. There is no known treatment or cure for neurofibromatosis. According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, "Neurofibromatosis is not a single medical disorder. It refers to three different conditions involving the development of tumors that may affect the brain, spinal cord, and the nerves that send signals between the brain and spinal cord and all other parts of the body."  Alicia is my guest for this episode of Conversations with Nicole. She hopes by sharing her story it will bring more awareness to this disorder.  For information on neurofibromatosis go to www.ninds.nih.gov.  You'll also find more information at the Children's Tumor Foundation website, www.ctf.org. #conversationswithnicole #casuallyspeaking #neurofibromatosis
