He fired a shot at the shooter. The shooter was neutralized. Let me repeat that an off duty officer wearing a vest over his workout clothes, carrying an ar rifle with ten to twelve rounds, breached the classroom and fired the shot that killed the shooter. Meanwhile, what was the defendant doing? Officer Adrian Gonzalez was equipped with only a side arm, no rifle, three magazines. He waited in the hallway. Testimony revealed that no officers were permanently assigned to rab elementary at the time of the shooting.
