Making Maple Syrup at Briden Farm

It’s that time of year, when Winter is waning and the Death Moon is growing! The Death Moon, signifying the death of Winter, being the last Full Moon before the Spring Equinox. This Moon is also known as the Worm Moon as its when the thawing ground and warmer temperatures brings the Worms to the Surface. Maybe we’ll speak more to those worms, and coming flys, next month when the Trout Fishing Season begins. The other name, and more pertinent to our current situation, is the name Sap, or Sugar, Moon! Named because, the thawing temperatures also help make sap run in the Maple Trees. The Maple Sap, once the trees are tapped, is boiled down to make Maple Syrup.
