1
00:00:03.759 --> 00:00:12.539
Hello, I'm Johnny Mac with five good news Halloween stories.

2
00:00:12.560 --> 00:00:15.480
Do you like Halloween? Do you like pizza? Would you

3
00:00:15.519 --> 00:00:18.780
like to combine Halloween and pizza? I don't know if

4
00:00:18.800 --> 00:00:22.300
this is a good idea. Tombstone Pizza announced they are

5
00:00:22.339 --> 00:00:26.839
putting out frozen pizzas topped with candy corn. Yes, and

6
00:00:26.859 --> 00:00:29.859
they're in on the joke. They call it the pizza

7
00:00:29.890 --> 00:00:33.759
nobody asked for. The official press release reads, conjured in

8
00:00:33.780 --> 00:00:36.719
the spookiest corners of the internet this Halloween season, Tombstone

9
00:00:36.780 --> 00:00:40.820
proudly presents the pizza nobody asked for. Introducing the limited

10
00:00:40.960 --> 00:00:44.329
edition Tombstone candy corn pizza, an unexpected flavor mashup from

11
00:00:44.350 --> 00:00:47.929
the official pizza of Halloween. Who decided that? Candy corn

12
00:00:48.109 --> 00:00:50.869
on pizza. Hear us out. It's weirdly good. They posted

13
00:00:51.049 --> 00:00:53.070
slices on Instagram if you want to take a look.

14
00:00:53.890 --> 00:00:56.429
They're doing online drops. We missed one already. There's a

15
00:00:56.450 --> 00:00:59.689
drop on the 9th and another on the 23rd. Apparently,

16
00:00:59.799 --> 00:01:02.890
you can get a slice for just $ 1. 31, shipping included.

17
00:01:02.929 --> 00:01:05.230
You get a tombstone cheese or pepperoni pizza with a

18
00:01:05.329 --> 00:01:08.930
side of candy corn. They wrote, trick, treat, terrible? Let

19
00:01:08.969 --> 00:01:11.430
us know in the comments. And if that's not good

20
00:01:11.469 --> 00:01:13.750
enough for you, head to New York City. Heidi Klum's

21
00:01:13.890 --> 00:01:17.670
Halloween Butterfinger Pizza is available at Crazy Pizza, a New

22
00:01:17.689 --> 00:01:20.370
York restaurant where she's a partner. That limited dessert will

23
00:01:20.390 --> 00:01:23.120
be available in Soho in New York City all month,

24
00:01:23.200 --> 00:01:25.459
and the brand will hand out samples at the awesome

25
00:01:25.599 --> 00:01:29.599
Village Halloween Parade on October 31st. I like this one

26
00:01:29.640 --> 00:01:33.760
a lot. This is a haunted car wash. 15 Tommy

27
00:01:33.840 --> 00:01:37.500
Express locations across Michigan are offering a Halloween twist on

28
00:01:37.519 --> 00:01:41.200
the car wash experience. It's the Tunnel of Terror. While

29
00:01:41.219 --> 00:01:43.900
you're getting your car washed, you can experience jump scares,

30
00:01:44.019 --> 00:01:48.000
creepy masked employees, and eerie sounds while remaining safely in

31
00:01:48.019 --> 00:01:50.760
your vehicle. To make the most of the experience, sites

32
00:01:50.819 --> 00:01:54.040
adjust the car wash belt down at the slowest possible speed,

33
00:01:54.099 --> 00:01:57.409
guaranteeing three full minutes of terror and hopefully a very

34
00:01:57.439 --> 00:02:00.430
clean car. Some sites might have a few tricks or

35
00:02:00.510 --> 00:02:03.469
treats in place before and after the tunnel. Maybe there's

36
00:02:03.510 --> 00:02:08.789
one near you. Tommies-Express.com slash Tunnel of Terror. Check that out.

37
00:02:09.289 --> 00:02:13.340
DoorDash crunched the data to figure out the most ordered

38
00:02:13.599 --> 00:02:16.879
treat in each state. I won't do all 50, but

39
00:02:17.000 --> 00:02:20.840
in 17 of the states, Reese's is number one. Laffy

40
00:02:20.900 --> 00:02:24.919
Taffy is number one in five different states. Laffy Taffy,

41
00:02:24.979 --> 00:02:29.939
number one in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Californians,

42
00:02:29.979 --> 00:02:32.900
you guys dig the red vines. Down south, seven states

43
00:02:33.159 --> 00:02:36.960
are gobbling up Dollar General sweet smiles. I don't even

44
00:02:36.979 --> 00:02:40.120
know what that is. DoorDash says raisins have been the

45
00:02:40.159 --> 00:02:42.800
most maligned Halloween treat for decades, the one everyone claims

46
00:02:42.840 --> 00:02:45.020
to hate, and yet they keep climbing every year without fail.

47
00:02:45.300 --> 00:02:46.860
At this point, I don't think it's a fluke. There's

48
00:02:46.879 --> 00:02:49.020
a real shift towards parents wanting to offer something that

49
00:02:49.080 --> 00:02:51.219
feels like a treat without going all in on sugar

50
00:02:51.360 --> 00:02:56.069
and raisins. Check that box. DoorDash also says Halloween, not

51
00:02:56.110 --> 00:02:58.610
good for dinner deliveries. They explain Halloween's one of the

52
00:02:58.650 --> 00:03:00.569
only nights all year where dinner takes a backseat to

53
00:03:00.620 --> 00:03:04.099
everything else, and the data backs that up. Most dinner

54
00:03:04.139 --> 00:03:08.539
categories decline on Halloween night, except pizza. It's fast, it

55
00:03:08.560 --> 00:03:10.560
feeds everyone, it doesn't get in the way of trick-or-treating,

56
00:03:10.979 --> 00:03:13.680
and as previously mentioned, we could put candy corn on it.

57
00:03:13.680 --> 00:03:17.889
Apparently this guy Sean is getting it done. In 2017,

58
00:03:17.879 --> 00:03:22.289
Sean's yearly Halloween-themed labyrinth became a legend in the town

59
00:03:22.310 --> 00:03:25.789
of Shrewsbury. He told the community advocate newspaper, we saw

60
00:03:25.870 --> 00:03:27.750
so many people, and then my wife Meg and I

61
00:03:27.789 --> 00:03:29.949
were directing traffic to get people in and out. Hundreds

62
00:03:29.990 --> 00:03:31.710
of people and vehicles were there every Saturday. It was

63
00:03:31.729 --> 00:03:34.629
completely wild. We knew we needed a venue change. So

64
00:03:34.680 --> 00:03:37.900
this year, it's at the Haunted Holando at the local

65
00:03:38.080 --> 00:03:41.979
candy mansion. Sean's now got 20 volunteers and his buddies

66
00:03:42.080 --> 00:03:44.780
Tim and Eric, and they spent over 300 hours over

67
00:03:44.800 --> 00:03:47.449
the last three weeks placing the skeletons, pumpkins, and ghosts there.

68
00:03:48.050 --> 00:03:51.150
They're expected to track more than 6,000 people. Sean said

69
00:03:51.210 --> 00:03:53.490
it's been such an amazing journey knowing that tens of

70
00:03:53.530 --> 00:03:56.060
thousands of people have long-term or lifetime memories of this.

71
00:03:56.810 --> 00:03:59.080
He does say it's time-consuming, takes a lot of effort,

72
00:03:59.099 --> 00:04:01.400
and involves 10- to 12-hour days. He works his full-time

73
00:04:01.439 --> 00:04:04.139
jobs at the health care place, gets out at 5

74
00:04:04.139 --> 00:04:06.669
and comes straight to the haunted house place and works

75
00:04:06.710 --> 00:04:09.310
another 5 or 6 hours. He says, I consume a

76
00:04:09.330 --> 00:04:12.229
lot of energy drinks. All the profits go to charity,

77
00:04:12.270 --> 00:04:14.439
he explains. Last year, we upped the ticket prices from

78
00:04:14.439 --> 00:04:18.600
$ 5 to $ 10. We raised $ 54, 000 against $ 8, 000 in expenses.

79
00:04:18.600 --> 00:04:21.779
100% of the proceeds have and will continue to go

80
00:04:21.819 --> 00:04:25.939
directly to supporting Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services. The Halloween

81
00:04:25.980 --> 00:04:30.639
maze opens up on October 9th and runs through Halloween. Hey,

82
00:04:30.660 --> 00:04:32.439
do you want to get married? Well, good news. The

83
00:04:32.550 --> 00:04:37.269
San Bernardino County Assessor Recorder County Clerk, Josie, has invited

84
00:04:37.329 --> 00:04:39.470
couples to come out and celebrate their wedding ceremony at

85
00:04:39.509 --> 00:04:42.829
the 3rd Annual Halloween Marriage Services at the Calico Ghost

86
00:04:42.870 --> 00:04:46.629
Town on Halloween, noon to 5. I was just out

87
00:04:46.670 --> 00:04:48.649
there last weekend. I should have popped in. Not that

88
00:04:48.670 --> 00:04:51.170
I needed to get married. I'm already married. But I

89
00:04:51.209 --> 00:04:53.430
was in the area. I could have went and scouted

90
00:04:53.449 --> 00:04:55.790
this out for us at the Ghost Town. Josie says,

91
00:04:55.850 --> 00:04:58.209
Calico is already a special place, but celebrating your wedding

92
00:04:58.230 --> 00:05:01.410
here on Halloween makes it even more unforgettable. Whether couples

93
00:05:01.449 --> 00:05:04.279
come dressed in traditional wedding attire, western wear... For a

94
00:05:04.279 --> 00:05:07.160
creative Halloween costume, we invite you to make memories, have

95
00:05:07.180 --> 00:05:10.339
some fun, and celebrate love in a truly one-of-a-kind setting.

96
00:05:10.959 --> 00:05:15.529
It's very popular. You are encouraged to schedule your appointment early.

97
00:05:16.029 --> 00:05:19.209
The last day to schedule is Friday the 23rd. It

98
00:05:19.269 --> 00:05:22.149
is expected to sell out. In case you need to

99
00:05:22.189 --> 00:05:24.209
look up the place and see if it's convenient for you,

100
00:05:24.480 --> 00:05:28.279
it's 36600 Ghost Town Road in Yermo. It's the historic

101
00:05:28.439 --> 00:05:31.439
Calico Ghost Town, and those are your five good news

102
00:05:31.459 --> 00:05:32.939
Halloween stories. Have a great day.
